Claudio Marchesan, Owner & Chef * Claudio Marchesan is a native of Grado, Italy. Chef Marchesan attended the professional cooking school of Rome from 1966 to 1968 under the guidance of the renowned Master Chef Giovanni Caruso.
After graduating, Claudio apprenticed at several restaurants throughout Italy and his home region Friuli.
In 1981, Chef Claudio joined "restaurateur extraordinaire" Larry Mindel as the Executive Chef of the innovative new concept Prego on Union St. Featuring an open kitchen, Authentic Italian Food, and an effervescent atmosphere made Prego a big success.
Following the sucess of Prego, in 1983 Chef Marchesan then moved to Beverly Hills to open a second location, followed by a third one in Orange County (Irvine).
When Larry acquired Il Fornaio, Claudio joined his former boss and mentor as the Executive Chef to open Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana in Corte Madera, followed by other locations in Del Mar, Palo Alto, and Levi Plaza in San Francisco.
In exclusive Montecito, near Santa Barbara, Claudio Marchesan opened Pane e Vino with enormous success, fulfilling his dream of opening his own restaurant. Pane e Vinos opened in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County and even Mexico City in the exclusive Polanco area.
Chef Claudio Marchesan is now operating E'Angelo Trattoria in San Francisco since 2003.
